Friday Gallery: Winter color

I had a really lovely brief trip to the Botanic Gardens last weekend, just at sunset. Such a stunning contrast between the gardens in winter, particularly the high arid West native gardens, and the tropical conservatory, which is just exploding with all kinds of madness right now. And there’s an orchid exhibition on, which is magnificent.

My absolute ignorance about botany is on display in the captions. Next time I go to the gardens it’s snap a picture of a pretty thing – snap a companion picture of the marker. Then I’ll be able to reconstruct what I utterly failed to retain.

Also, I am still not bored with macro shots of Cayo Costa shells. This time, in color!
